Summer is nearing its end.

With the closure of summer on the way, I've moved in with some friends, they are terrific people so things are good. All but the cats and the move, Smokey was terrified once I began packing things and wouldn't get near the cat carrier or me for over 2 weeks. I finally had to hire a professional cat wrangler to catch him and put him in the carrier, it took him several days to come out in the open and act like himself. Then it appeared he wanted to do nothing but attack Bandit, every time Bandit moved around Smokey lit into him, he was always getting yelled at and swatted.
Today Bandit decided when I moved his dish that he'd had enough change and attacked me, the front of my leg is scratches about 4 inches long and the back is 4 punctures be it from teeth or claws. Then he stood his ground and hissed and growled at me and crouched like he planned to attack again, I finally ended up grabbing the throw rug and tossing it at him to get him to back off. I'm not sure what to do with them, I take them in the 29th to be neutered, but if there is another attack on me I may have to turn them over to a rescue shelter.
Maybe the move was not a good thing after all, but I think it was for the best. I only hope my two companions settle down and accept it soon since this is no way to live for them or me.

Family

Why is it we let real life interfere with us living life? Why do we plant seeds yet not stop and smell the flowers when they bloom? We start out as infants and grow to toddlers and enjoy all parts of life, eating dirt, chasing bugs, pulling cats tails, picking flowers or weeds.
We start school and crave learning, more give me more. We learn to write our names, to read, spell, do math and play well with others. We find that there is a big old world out there and want to see it all, we wonder if we will be rich and famous, beautiful, scholarly or special in our own way. We strive to be the best we can be, we grow from a seed to a bud.
We finally become a teenager and know everything there is to know, we are smarter than anyone, we own the world but still don't stop and take a good look or smell we hurry to get our lives going. We rebel what do adults know they are so old fashioned, they don't get it they don't dig us. They gripe about our music they yell at us for things that don't matter.
We become adults we get jobs and can you imagine they actually expect us to work for our wages. We start our family, we have the babies, we do our best to raise them to be what we want them to be, wait shouldn't we guide them but let them decide what they want to be. As the kids grow so do our responsibilities we get busy, we get distracted, we don't notice that the child needs us we just want to give them the things we think they need.
Our children are now blooming they are growing and leaving home to live their lives, they have their wants and needs and we seem to be a part of the past so we step back and take up watching again. We watch them bloom and flower into wonderful people, we watch as they have their children and we realize how much the entire family process means to us.
Is it to late to stop and see not just look? Is it to late to smell the wonderful fragrance of the life we have lived and the lives we have helped to bloom over the years? No it is not to late, grasp life look and see how beautiful and precious it is, enjoy the beauty the fragrances the sounds and enjoy your family, you can replant gardens but family is a one time thing.
Its never to late to contact those you love and have missed over the years, its not to late to say "I care", now is the first day of the rest of your life don't let it go by without loving it and living it.
When my time here is over I hope I will go with the knowledge that I had meant something to others, that perhaps in some strange way I had guided someone to the right path, but most important I hope I leave the knowledge to others that they are adn always were very important to me. Love ya all.

Happy New Year

It was a cool night, I went out to the complex parking lot and watched the fireworks, it was beautiful to watch. My pic isn't very good, but it was over a mile away.
